About Destaron
Background
The company began in 1958 when Dr. Israel Moskovitch built an apartment building on the Vancouver waterfront. He then grew his portfolio in the British Columbia market. With his vast knowledge of apartment rental and construction, he chose to enter the Ontario market and began construction of the Green Valley building in Kitchener in 1979. Later, he formed a management company to oversee the portfolio and named it in honour of his children. His son, Stewart, took over the day to day operations of the company in 1995. Destaron is still run by the family.
Destaron is now diversified across Ontario – but have one thing in common – they all provide the highest level of service to the residents who have chosen the building as their home.
Executive Backgrounds:
Stewart Moskovitch has worked in the real estate industry since 1978, working along side his father in Vancouver. Stewart has been President of Destaron since 1995 when his father retired. At that time, there were only three buildings in the Destaron portfolio. Stewart is proud to continue in his father’s footsteps to not only grow the company, but maintain the family focus on resident satisfaction.
Stewart has focused extensively on improving energy efficiencies across the portfolio and has introduced initiatives to modernize the properties and reduce energy consumption.
He obtained his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia. He is a member of the GTAA (Greater Toronto Apartment Association), HDAA (Hamilton District Apartment Association), KWAA (Kitchener Waterloo Apartment Association) and is an avid supporter of numerous charitable organizations.
